You make the mistake of seeing islam as a peaceful religion. It is nothing of the sort. Find a country run by islamists where there is separation of state and religion, where women are not oppressed, where art and culture flourish etc. You can’t find any. This is simply to make my point: Islam is not so much a religion, it s a backward, militant, and opressing culture.
Given those facts, the western world would do well to guard against letting islamists get influence here, let alone build one of their mosques on/near ground 0.
And burning their book is exactly what we need to show. Give them the middle finger. To show them that we reject their pathetic backward culture.
Does that offend? Damn right. 9/11 offended too.
